There were far too many stories that were unraveling in her mind, broken pages and twisting script came in her scattered thoughts as she looked out upon the ocean. The ebb and tide, the easy and natural way of the waves in their constant motion proved that for at least the sea life would continue on.

The smoothing rush forward and the easy retreat backward reminded her so much of time and of the life? the lives that had transpired. It wasn?t about the burning times any more or the ashes that could dust the sky when the mist kissed the night and was touched in sparks of silver by the moon light. Instead it was something more significant, the change itself , the life now lived.

So much had changed and yet there was so much that had remained the same. The opal bright of her eyes moved over the point where the ocean met the sky before she raised the apple to her lips, the sweet skin of the fruit contradicted by the near sour flesh beneath. Lilia could not suppress the smile that curled her lips as she could feel the juice dribble down her chin before being swiped away by the back of her hand. Yes? some things just would not change? like her manners.

?Another adventure then, yana??

?Sae it would seem, lovely.?

Lilia flashed the fox?s wild grin over to Rona as mirth glittered in the jewel shine of her eyes as the last few bites of the apple were devoured. A few bites away to follow the diminishing linger of memories of one so fond of the fruit. A memory of one who could easily be claimed as friend and confidante by both women as they stood beside each other to watch the ocean at night.

?Will de others come??

?Nae clue, Ro, s?pose we?ll just ?ave tae wait and see.?

Lilia?s fingers easily pushed the wind teased curls of red out of her eyes as she spared another look at the gypsy before finding her gaze resting on one of her recent travel mates. Cinna Sainte-Clare was if anything a true enigma far more than Lilia ever believed that her or even Rona could be. Cinna rarely spoke but instead watched the world with her exotic hunter gold eyes as left her presence known only by shadows and smoke. The woman reminded her of so many others and yet none she had ever met before. A spark in the dark was Cinna and rumor had it that she had siblings, but if such was so, Cinna never spoke of them.

?Cinna, will ye be joinin? us den??

?Am I not on the ship? I figured that should give evidence enough of my decision.?

Sharp tongued as well, the golden honey of Cinna?s voice came with a growling plumed exhale of nicotine to tease the edges of a dry humored smile as Cinna looked down upon the pair. The response left the bawdy grin to reach higher heights on Chance?s lips as she shook her head and grinned over to Rona with a nudge of shoulder against the gypsy?s own.

?Well dis ah know is gonna be one helluva an adventure, ah can feel it ? ah jus? know were in fer somethin? wild.?

Oh if only Lilia knew the fortune that would mark her words to make it so. Good luck? Hardly.
